  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Yamal was one of the best players across both legs of the Champions League semi-final clash between Inter and Barcelona. In the first leg, the 17-year-old had the Nerazzurri's defensive line in shambles as he scored once and hit the bar on two other occasions. Yamal threatened Yann Sommer's goal multiple times in the second leg, while he also managed to complete 14 dribbles in the clash at San Siro, one less than the Champions League record set by Neymar in 2020.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ultimately, it just wasn't to be for Yamal and Barcelona, who eventually lost 4-3 on the night and 7-6 on aggregate. During the 210 minutes of action between the Nerazzurri and the Blaugrana, Bastoni was constantly called into action to defend against Yamal, and he has now called the teenager a 'terrifyingly good kid'.

  • WHAT BASTONI SAID

On Instagram, Bastoni wrote: "Respect to our opponents – they showed incredible strength and heart. And special mention to a terrifyingly good kid: Lamine Yamal, you’re a monster."

Bastoni also added a photo of himself wearing Yamal's jersey during the post-match celebrations.
