Monaco in crisis: Falcao, Golovin & 10 top players Thierry Henry can call on

Club captain and star man, Radamel Falcao joined Monaco in 2013 and has hit double figures in the two seasons since his ill-fated Premier League adventure, which consisted of frustrating loan spells at Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 32-year-old is also Colombia's skipper and all-time leading goal-scorer, with 32 international goals.

Falcao's leadership skills and goals will be key to Henry's hopes of turning Monaco's season around.

Aleksandr Golovin was one of the hottest properties on the market during the summer after helping Russia reach the World Cup quarter-finals and it was Monaco who secured his signature despite reported interest from many of Europe's elite.

The creative midfielder is only 22 but he has already been a title winner with CSKA Moscow and has a UEFA European Under-17 Championship winners' medal too.

Benjamin Henrichs is a typically versatile German youth product who primarily operates as a right-back but has been used as a left-back and even a left winger since making his senior debut for Bayer Leverkusen at the age of 18.

He made 75 appearances for his boyhood club in total before joining Monaco in the summer and has also already won three senior caps for Germany, as well as a Confederations Cup title.

An experienced centre-back at club and international level, Kamil Glik secured a move to Monaco back in 2016 after four strong seasons in Serie A with Torino and is now vice-captain at the Stade Louis II.

He has been capped 62 times by Poland, appearing at Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup, and is also a proven threat from set-pieces, with 31 career goals to date.

Currently in his seventh season in Ligue 1, Djibril Sidibe has proven himself a real talent in the division and established himself as a regular France international as a result.

The full-back provided seven assists in Monaco's colours last season – more than any other defender in the league and level with PSG's Dani Alves – before lifting the World Cup in the summer with Les Bleus.

Youri Tielemans was snapped up by Monaco in the summer of 2017 after excelling with boyhood club Anderlecht, where he won the Young Player of the Year award in Belgium in 2014 and 2015 and the senior version in 2017.

His debut season was certainly a struggle, with just one assist in 27 Ligue 1 games, but he looks confident again after placing third with Belgium at this year's World Cup and has three goals in nine league games so far this term.

Former Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic has struggled to build on his promise shown as a fringe player at Fiorentina, but the best goal-scoring ratio of his career so far has come with Monaco, where he has nine goals in 16 Ligue 1 games since joining in the summer of 2017.

Montenegro's captain and all-time leading goal-scorer, the 28-year-old certainly knows where the net is, but has not played regularly enough due to persistent fitness problems throughout his career.

The third-youngest player to score and the joint-youngest to appear in Serie A, Pietro Pellegri hasn't started a game yet this season for Monaco but he has found the back of the net. 

The 17-year-old signed from Genoa in January this year and has already had his first senior international call-up too, but missed out on his Italy debut in September due to a minor injury.

Despite only entering his third, and second full, season with the club, centre-back Jemerson has already made 100 appearances for Monaco, which shows how quickly he has become a key man at the Stade Louis II. 

His performances in the principality earned him a Brazil recall, with the defender winning two senior caps since 2017 having only earned call-ups during his time with Atletico Mineiro.

After winning the Golden Ball at the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, where he helped Mali place third with his four goals and three assists, Adama Traore was snapped up by Monaco from Lille, for whom he had made 20 appearances as a teenager in the 2014-15 season.

The highly-rated midfielder spent time on loan with Rio Ave last year, but he has made four appearances this term and looks ready to make a real first-team impact.
