More misery for Barcelona! Joao Felix set to miss Champions League clash with Napoli after suffering ankle ligament damage

Barcelona announced ahead of their La Liga clash against Osasuna that Felix has been sidelined with an ankle injury sustained in training. The club expect the Atletico Madrid loanee to miss around a month of action due to the problem, according to ESPN. Such a timescale means that Felix is likely to sit out the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League clash with current Serie A champions Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on February 21.

Felix's injury is more bad news for Barcelona in what's been a tough few days for the Catalan giants. Barca were beaten 5-3 by Villarreal last time out in La Liga, with Xavi announcing after the game he would quit as coach at the end of the season. Felix's injury means he also joins a growing list of key players currently sidelined for Barca. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Alejandro Balde, Gavi and Raphinha are also currently out of action.

Felix is Barcelona's joint top scorer in the Champions League so far this season with three goals in four games for Xavi's side.

Xavi's side take on Osasuna on Wednesday and will be aiming to get back to winning ways after defeats to Athletic Club and Villarreal and in a bid to build some momentum ahead of the Champions League tie. Barca are currently fourth in La Liga, 11 points behind leaders Girona having played one game less.
