    Marca reports that the longtime shotstopper for El Tri will not be called up this summer to Jaime Lozano's squad. The 38-year-old goalkeeper's time is up with Mexico, and the boss wants to usher in a new era of talent ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

    Ochoa has long been an iconic goalkeeper on the international stage. He has 150 caps with his national team, dating back to 2004. 20 years on the international stage, Ochoa has filled the world with joy with his performances in international tournaments, with heroics at the World Cup and in CONCACAF competition.

    However, it now seems like it's time to pass the torch.

    Ochoa has played with six different teams along his storied career, across Mexico, France, Spain and in Belgium. He has won the Gold Cup with Mexico five times - in 2009, 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.

    The 38-year-old, who was just relegated to Serie B with Salernitana, will evaluate his options this offseason. It remains to be seen if he will stay with the club, or look for a new adventure. He has been linked with a shock move to MLS.
