  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Blues have struggled in the early stage of the campaign, having won just one of their first six matches in the English top-flight. It's Chelsea's worst start in 45 years, and pressure is now on the Argentine manager just months into his reign at the helm of the West London side.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Pochettino signed a two-year contract to take over a side that saw many new faces come in over the summer transfer window, as the likes of Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, among others, come into the squad.

Despite the investment in the team, there have been concerns about Pochettino's coaching style, as The Athletic reports that their struggles in finding the net this term could be down to his lack of tactical guidance for his strikers.

  • WHAT THEY SAID

Asked how long it will take for his project to pay off given the length of his contract, he told Sky Sports: "Two years? I think I understand because the owners and sporting director they explain - it is about [knowing] people and if they are happy with us and we are happy with them.

"We are working. It is not a problem to have two years or five years or a ten year contract - the most important [thing] is to be in the right project and for them to have identified us as the right people to drive this ship."
