  • Earps will be a free agent in the summer
  • Goalkeeper yet to decide on her future
  • Drawing interest from European elites
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

As the Lionesses goalkeeper has entered the final six months of her contract, Earps is now eligible to engage in talks with clubs outside of England, potentially exposing United to the risk of losing her on a free transfer this summer. However, according to The Telegraph, she is open to the possibility of staying at United beyond the expiration of her current contract which should relieve the Red Devils faithful.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Man United are actively engaging in discussions to secure a new deal with the talented England No 1. They are keen on retaining her and have no intention of selling her during the January transfer window.

Arsenal, who had a bid for Earps rejected last summer, may not be submitting a fresh bid during the current transfer window. English clubs are not allowed to enter into contract talks with Earps at this stage, with only overseas teams permitted under league rules to engage in such discussions.

  • WHAT EARPS SAID?

After winning the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year award, Earps expressed her frustration with the speculation around her future and insisted that her focus remains on football.

“I’ve remained quiet for a reason. I feel I’ve behaved with a lot of integrity through this whole situation," she told reporters.

"A lot of stuff that’s been put out isn’t true. I want to say more but I can’t at this stage and it’s really hard for me to sit quietly when I see a lot of things that are not right. I think it’s an injustice but I know the appropriate thing to do is focus on my football and see what happens from there.”

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Earps recently changed agents, signing with A&V Sports, a prominent agency representing major names in women's football globally. Chelsea star Sam Kerr and former Ballon d’Or-winning Lyon and Norway striker Ada Hegerberg are clients of the company.
