Another Man Utd exit? Sevilla set to see off competition from Everton to sign Hannibal Mejbri on loan

The Spanish side are close to beating competition from Everton to land the 20-year-old on loan from the Red Devils, according toThe Athletic. United preferred Sevilla's proposal over that of the Toffees and they could sign him on a permanent basis if they trigger an option to buy him outright.

The midfielder, who already has 27 caps for Tunisia, joined United from Monaco four years ago and has made 13 appearances for the senior team, 11 of which have come this season. However, Mejbri's lack of regular playing time under Erik ten Hag resulted in both parties looking for a loan move this month.

Hannibal's contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2025 and United could include a buy-back clause in case Sevilla opt to make the temporary deal permanent. Having opted not to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations with his country, it is possible he will be included in the Red Devils' squad for the upcoming meeting with Tottenham to cover for injuries.

Hannibal, United and Sevilla will put the final details on the deal that will see him head to Spain before the transfer window comes to a close. If all is wrapped up soon, he could make his La Liga debut against Girona on January 21.
