  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Manchester United took the lead in their FA Cup round three clash against Arsenal through Bruno Fernandes before the Gunners utilized Altay Bayindir's mistake to bring the game level, minutes after Diogo Dalot was sent off. The tide shifted in the north London side's favour as Havertz was then brought down by Maguire in the box, prompting the referee to award a penalty. However, replays showed that Maguire's outstretched leg barely made any contact with Havertz.

    As per The Mirror, Maguire pleaded with referee Andy Madley after he awarded Arsenal the penalty. After seeing the referee unmoved, Maguire then squared up to Havertz to accuse him of diving and said "You cheating scumbag", which prompted a mass brawl between the players, with Manuel Ugarte shoving the German to the ground in the clash.

    Maguire had the last laugh in the game as Havertz missed his penalty in the eventual shootout, which led to Arsenal losing the clash and getting knocked out of the competition. Maguire will look to continue his fantastic form when the Red Devils take on Southampton in the Premier League on Thursday, January 16.
