Man City’s stellar 2023 continues! Victory over Sheffield United secures incredible home record for Pep Guardiola’s side

The Cityzens capped off a stellar year with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday at Etihad Stadium. With the win over The Blades, the English champions went unbeaten at home throughout 2023.

The year 2023 was a memorable one for the club as they became the first English side to win five trophies in a calendar year and only the second English team after Manchester United to win the treble. Other than lifting the FA Cup, the Premier League trophy and the Champions League title last season, in the ongoing campaign they won the European Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Cityzens headed into the Sheffield clash on the back of a three-match winless run at home. Overall, they have played nine Premier League games at the Etihad this season out of which they have won on six occasions.

Pep Guardiola's side will begin the new year with a FA Cup third-round clash against Huddersfield on January 7 before returning to action in the Premier League on January 13 where they face Newcastle United.
