Modric, 39, has signed a deal with Milan until June 2026, with an option to extend for a further year. The move reunites the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner with Serie A, where he is expected to play a pivotal role under head coach Massimiliano Allegri. His arrival follows the departure of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, leaving a gap in midfield leadership that Modric is set to fill. Reijnders wore the No. 14 shirt last season.
He spoke to the media briefly on Monday after arriving in Milan, saying: "I'm very happy to be here, great challenges await me, I will have time to talk about all this."
