Liverpool set to win transfer race for in-demand Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez as Man Utd & Man City fall behind

The defender has captured the attention of multiple top clubs following his impressive debut season in England. According to inews, Liverpool, United, and City have all initiated discussions with Kerkez’s representatives regarding a potential transfer. However, it is believed the Hungarian is leaning towards a move to Anfield, influenced by his connection with Liverpool’s director of football, Richard Hughes.

Hughes, who played a pivotal role in bringing Kerkez to Bournemouth during his tenure on the south coast, appears to be a significant factor in the player’s preference for Liverpool over the two other Premier League giants. Despite growing interest, Bournemouth reportedly have no intention of letting Kerkez leave in the January transfer window. The club has already signed a potential replacement in Julio Soler from Lanus, but they remain determined to keep Kerkez for now.

The Cherries are under no financial pressure to sell, but sources suggest the club may consider offers in the region of £50 million ($61m). So far, no formal bids have been submitted, leaving the door open for potential negotiations in the summer.

Man Utd, under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, are also actively searching for reinforcements at left-back. While Kerkez remains a target, United reportedly view Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes as another option in the position. Meanwhile, Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri is also thought to be on United’s shortlist.
