Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah draws level with Thierry Henry in Premier League history books & beats remarkable Luis Suarez record after scoring 18th goal of the season vs Man Utd

As disappointing as the night was for Liverpool, Salah's goal held some significance in the English top flight's history books as the Egyptian forward drew level with Arsenal legend Henry as the seventh highest scorer in Premier League history. Henry and Salah are now tied with 175 goals each, with the Liverpool forward still 85 goals away from Alan Shearer as the undisputed top scorer of the Premier League.

Thanks to his goal against Manchester United, Salah also broke a Premier League record held by Liverpool legend Luis Suarez. As per OptaJoe, the Egyptian now has the most goal involvements by a player in their first 19 appearances of a season. Salah has 31 goal contributions with 18 goals and 13 assists so far this term, one more than Suarez's 30 at the same stage in the 2013-14 season with 23 goals and 7 assists.

Salah has suggested this will be his last Premier League season with Liverpool as he is unlikely to extend his current contract. As such, Salah will realistically be targeting Andy Cole's haul of 187 Premier League goals and needs 12 more to go into fourth place in the all-time record books, which would leave him behind only behind Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney.
