    THE BIGGER PICTURE

It was a victory worthy of a toast as the Blues ensured yet another positive over their London rivals in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. Maresca has enjoyed a good start to life at Chelsea, threatening momentarily of mounting a title challenge, but poor form has seen the Blues fall away and into a scrap for Champions League qualification.

As for Messi, he looks set to keep breaking records. The legendary forward needs either one more goal or assist to put him ahead of Gonzalo Higuain as Inter Miami's leading goal contribution provider in the MLS regular-season. He has 23 goals and 20 assists in 28 games for the Herons so far in and one more would nudge him ahead of his former teammate who took 67 games to reach that number.
