Lionel Messi looks to be in incredible shape as Inter Miami superstar posts photo from gym with wife Antonela Roccuzzo during MLS offseason

With the 2024 MLS season not due to begin until the end of February, Messi could be forgiven for kicking back during the Christmas holidays. However, on Wednesday he posted on social media a photo of himself and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo in the gym, and he looks to be in the best shape of his caeer.

Messi began life in the US by winning the inaugural Leagues Cup, but Inter Miami then failed to reach the MLS play-offs. After a few niggling injuries blighted the final few months of the 2023 season, he's clearly determined to enjoy a more successful 2024.

Reacting to the photo of a shredded Messi in the gym, one Inter Miami fan said: "Messi is cooking something special for 2024."

Messi has now been joined in Miami by his close friend and former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez. With the Uruguayan acting as his attacking partner, a fully-fit and shredded Messi could be about to cause mayhem.

Messi will continue to prepare for Miami's MLS opener against Real Salt Lake on February 22. Gone are the days of the long-haired genius, we're now in the short-haired and ripped era of Messi.
