  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Stansfield is one of two Birmingham players to be nominated after their astonishing League One campaign that saw them crowned champions with an EFL record 111 points. No other promoted players make the list, with representatives coming from Leyton Orient, Barnsley, Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers.

    THE NOMINEES

    Joining Stansfield on the list is his team-mate Tomoki Iwata, while top goalscorer Charlie Kelman of Leyton Orient is nominated. Wycombe's Richard Kone and Peterborough's Kwame Poku are included among the six and Barnsley's Davis Keillor-Dunn is also named.

    Stansfield scored 19 goals for the Blues after his record-breaking transfer from Fulham last summer, while Iwata has impressed in their midfield all season. Kelman is nominated after bagging 23 goals for Leyton Orient and Keillor-Dunn is rewarded for his 18-goal campaign. Poku registered 20 goals involvements in just 27 matches for Posh and Kone bagged 18 goals in his first EFL campaign after moving from non-league side Athletic Newham.

    WHAT NEXT?

    The prestigious prize will be awarded during a ceremony at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday, August 19. On the same night, the PFA will dish out awards to the best players in the Premier League, WSL, Championship and League Two, as well as honouring some of the game's most talented youngsters.
