Lauryn Goodman ready to tell kids 'the truth' about father Kyle Walker – with ex-Love Island contestant revealing that son Kairo is no longer buying 'playing football' lies

England international Walker, who is now on loan at AC Milan from Premier League champions Manchester City, has fathered two kids with former Love Island contestant Goodman. That extramarital affair has put serious strain on his relationship with wife Annie Kilner.

Walker, in a bid to save his marriage, has distanced himself from Goodman. That has limited his involvement with son Kairo and daughter Kinara, leading to excuses having to be made for his absence. Those stories are not holding as much weight as they once did, meaning that serious discussions will soon need to be held.

Goodman has told OK! Magazine of the difficult situation that she faces when it comes to family life: “I'm in that transition stage at the moment where we haven't fully crossed over to 'the truth'. For the whole year it's been very much 'your dad's playing football, he's training'. Then one day Kairo started crying his eyes out saying 'I miss my dad, I miss my dad', and I was saying 'I know you do'. But then he started getting angry and said ‘He's not at football; he's not playing today’."

Goodman added, with Kairo’s friends aware of who his father is: "I asked him how he knew and he said another child had told him that Man City weren't playing that day. And I realised we couldn't keep on going like that. So I have spoken to therapists and professionals about it."

With Walker and Kilner now starting afresh in Italy, Goodman said of her efforts to do right by her young family: “Everything I do is for my kids. They are innocent and I am here, day in, day out, caring for them, making sure that they are looked after, making sure they're loved, making sure that they're not affected.”

Talk of Goodman potentially following Walker to Italy has been played down, but she is still keen to explore the option of relocating to Dubai. It remains to be seen how much, if any, contact Walker has with Kairo and Kinara heading forward.
