Kyle Walker and wife Annie Kilner share cosy family Christmas photo with their four children amid divorce talk and Lauryn Goodman saga

The Manchester City defender was supposedly kicked out of his family home in Cheshire when it was revealed that he had fathered a second child with former Love Island star Lauryn Goodman. Unfortunate headlines have been made on a regular basis since then.

There has been talk of Kilner filing for divorce, with Walker facing the threat of having to part with half of his £27 million ($34m) fortune. For now, though, the England international is playing happy families with his long-time partner.

Walker and Kilner spent Christmas together, along with their four children, and have posted an image on social media of the Walker clan sporting matching pyjamas. A “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” message has also been sent to followers around the world.

While Walker and Kilner have been putting any differences to one side for now, there is no guarantee that their relationship will be saved. A source has told the Daily Mail: “It has been a difficult road and they are up and down. At this point they do not know if they will be able to be fully reconciled. The ultimate goal is that the children are OK. They don't know if they are going to make it as a couple.”

The insider went on to say, with City captain Walker facing challenges on and off the pitch at present: “When they separated they said that they were going to stay united for the children. The divorce is on hold, and they are still discussing what the next year might look like for them. They are continuing to live together.

“Despite everything which has been thrown at them, and not just by Lauryn, they are going forward amicably. It has not been easy for a number of reasons. However they have been a couple for 17 years so there is a lot of history. Kyle obviously has faults but he is a very involved father and the children are still very young. They have tremendous respect for each other as parents.”

Walker’s former mistress Goodman has revealed that the 34-year-old full-back – who is seeing questions asked of his future at the Etihad Stadium – did not send any Christmas presents for their two children, Kairo and Kinara.
