Kyle Walker isn't back together with Annie Kilner & is sleeping in separate bed on third floor of his £4m mansion as Man City star's wife remains 'deeply scarred' by Lauryn Goodman ordeal

Walker was shown the door from the family home during Christmas after it was revealed that he had fathered a second child with his former mistress, Lauryn Goodman. It was previously reported that the defender had moved back into the couple's £4 million home in Cheshire, but The Sun now claims that the England international and Kilner are not back together as she remains 'deeply scarred'.

Previously, after the affair came to light, Walker issued a public apology and rented a nearby home as a temporary living arrangement. Despite the apology, the road to recovery has been slow, and it seems that their relationship remains fragile.

The Sunreports that Walker has returned to the family home on a "trial basis" following a series of in-depth conversations over the summer.

"It reached a stage where they had to make a decision on their relationship," a source said, according to the newspaper.

"It was unfair on everyone to drag it out any longer. They either had to make a go of it or move on. They’ve decided to see how things go. It’s on a trial basis. Kyle’s been back for over a week now and he’s sleeping in a separate bed on the third floor of the house. Annie is determined to do what she thinks is best for her kids.”

While another source added: "This year has been the toughest of their lives. There is still a huge amount of upset. It will be a work in progress for many years. But if they are to stand a chance, they both need to give it a go.”

While Walker works on mending his relationship at home, his professional life has also encountered hurdles. The Manchester City defender has had limited playing time this season, with his only appearance coming in a brief two-minute stint against West Ham. New England boss Lee Carsley left him out of the squad for the UEFA Nations League matches, which was another major blow for the player. After falling behind Rico Lewis in the pecking order at City, he faces a battle to win back his place in Pep Guardiola's starting XI. The English champions take on Brentford in an upcoming Premier League fixture on Saturday.
