'I'm just a chill guy' - Amad Diallo hilariously plays up to viral meme after starring for Man Utd in stunning derby victory over Man City

Manchester United piled up a late comeback against city rivals Manchester City as Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored minutes apart to cancel out Josko Gvardiol's first-half strike to give the Red Devils a 2-1 win. It was Diallo's late finish that gave Ruben Amorim's side all three points at Etihad Stadium.

Diallo has been a star performer at United since Amorim's appointment and the 22-year-old has been highly trusted by the Portuguese coach. After the win over Manchester City, Diallo said he was a 'chill guy' in an interview with club media - referencing the social media meme that has gone viral in recent weeks.

Speaking to the media, Diallo said: "I have been waiting for a long time to have this moment. I have been working so hard every day to have this moment, to live this moment, and I am so happy the team is very happy with me because I am a chill guy.

"Every time we are training, I put a smile on everyone's face, but in the game you have to be focused and give your best. We knew today was not going to be easy because they are in the front teams.

"But this is a derby and you have to be more angry than them and we showed we're hungry."

Manchester United will be in action next when they face off against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Thursday, and Diallo will likely be a starter yet again for Amorim.
