Jude Bellingham embarrasses Jamie Carragher with cheeky dig after inspiring Real Madrid to Champions League victory

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Bellingham contributed significantly yet again as Madrid trudged to a 2-1 aggregate victory over RB Leipzig, after a 1-1 draw in the Spanish capital on Wednesday. Following the match, Bellingham spoke to CBS Sports' Guillem Balague, who told the Englishman that he receives a lot of stick for his suits from Carragher, but Bellingham was quick to jump to his defence.

  • WHAT THEY SAID

    Upon hearing Balague's account of Carragher mocking his style, Bellingham said on CBS Sports: "I think you look brilliant tonight, mate."

    The midfielder then turned his attention to Carragher. "I've seen some of the suits that Jamie wears, I'm not too sure," he said. "I think you can give him a bit of stick back."

    Carragher burst out laughing in the studio, before saying: "Honestly, he's brilliant. He's unbelievable, isn't he?"

Bellingham, who is thriving in a more advanced role for Carlo Ancelotti's team, has scored 20 goals in 31 games for Madrid this season.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR BELLINGHAM?

    The Englishman will not be back in action anytime soon as he has been suspended for Real Madrid's next two league games after receiving a straight red card for dissent in the 2-2 draw with Valencia. He will return for the club on March 31 when they take on Athletic Club in the league.
