The English forward joined the Korean giants in the winter but had struggled to find his feet in new surroundings. However, he finally scored his first goal for Seoul in a 2-0 triumph over Gangwon when he converted from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.

Lingard had to undergo a knee surgery in March which kept him sidelined until the third week of May. He has been gradually gaining confidence and was even applauded by the fans in a recent 3-0 win over Suwon FC in the K League.

Lingard took to Instagram to celebrate his goal and wrote: "This feeling. Proud of the lads today! Have to keep pushing @fcseoul."

The veteran playmaker will hope to build on his bright form and find the net again when Seoul play away to Jeonbuk on Saturday.
