Jarrod Bowen compares proposing to Dani Dyer to playing for England at Euro 2024 as West Ham star admits soon-to-be father-in-law Danny is 'not what I expected'

There has been a lot going on in Bowen's life in 2024. Having had twins with fiancee Dani Dyer the year before, he has since proposed to the actress on a romantic yacht holiday. As well as that, Bowen was selected by Gareth Southgate for Euro 2024 with England, where he made two cameos. The 12-cap international has now opened up on the rollercoaster last 12 months and even admitted his soon-to-be father-in-law Danny Dyer is a soft touch at heart.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Bowen said: "On and off the pitch it’s been really good. In the last year we’ve had two twin girls, and obviously I had my first international tournament. I think going in the first place was one thing, you always want to play but you never think the opportunity is going to come so to play the games that I did was a really proud moment. It was just gutting that we lost in the final."

On Dyer, he added: "He’s definitely not what I expected when we first met. He’s a brilliant man who has been in my life for two-and-a half… I better not get this wrong or I’ll be in the doghouse, two-and-a-half-years - and it obviously helps him being a West Ham fan as well. We’ve got a really good relationship."

Bowen is the perfect example of a famous face living life as normally as possible. It is a heavy weight captaining West Ham and to be able to manage that on top of wedding planning and children is an impressive achievement. It certainly does not seem to be weighing him down. Bowen has two goals an assists already in 2024-25.

Wedding plans aside, Bowen has a busy upcoming schedule with West Ham. The Hammers host Ipswich on Saturday afternoon before travelling to Tottenham after the international break.
