  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The La Liga side will miss the services of the Williams brothers as they look to stage a miraculous comeback at Old Trafford on Thursday after losing the first leg 3-0 against United in Bilbao. Nico has been out of action since last week and missed the Basque derby against Real Sociedad on May 4. Inaki, on the other hand, started in the Sociedad game, but was subbed off in the 62nd minute.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The Athletic reports that the Spanish side have confirmed in a statement that Inaki remains out of action due to a thigh injury, but they did not provide an official update on Nico's condition. The siblings have been left out of the matchday squad for the trip to Manchester.

    Athletic Club boss Ernesto Valverde will also miss the services of star No.9 Oihan Sancet, who is the club's top scorer, with 17 goals across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign. Sancet also missed the first leg at home.

    After facing United on Thursday, Athletic Club will be back in action in La Liga on May 11 as they host Alaves, where a win will take them closer to sealing a top-four finish.
