How Chelsea could raise £75m plus if they sell their loan stars

Chelsea would likely lose money on the sale of Baba Rahman after signing him from Augsberg in 2015 in an initial £14 million deal; with add-ons meaning the fee could rise to £21.7m. 

However, he has the chance to rebuild his career again after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament while at the Africa Cup of Nations last season with Ghana. 

The defender has since joined Schalke on loan but he has yet to make an appearance for the club. The Bundesliga side agreed an 18-month loan deal at the end of January although they'll be wanting to see a lot more of him out on the pitch if they are to make the move permanent. 

Van Ginkel was once hailed as the new Frank Lampard and is proving to be a key player for Eredivisie table-toppers PSV Eindhoven, in his third loan move to the club. 

Such is the 25-year-old's importance to the Dutch club, he is their captain despite not formally being owned by them, and his 12 goals in 25 games have seen him make a healthy contribution to their push for the title. 

PSV tried to include a clause for a permanent move, but they couldn't agree a price with Chelsea, who want to make a profit on the £8 million they paid in 2013 to sign him from Vitesse.

Mario Pasalic has proved himself to be a useful player on his loan spells at Elche, Monaco, AC Milan and now at Spartak Moscow, but he has still yet to play for Chelsea after joining for £3m in 2014. 

He has racked up 22 appearances for Spartak, which have included both Champions League and Europa League games, and his appearances for the Russian club have put him in contention for Croatia's World Cup squad.

There is, however, a feeling that at 23 years old, he would have surely made it at Chelsea by now if he was considered a part of their long-term plans.

Tomas Kalas has become well known in English football after several seasons in the country, having spent the last two campaigns at Fulham.  

He also helped Middlesbrough gain promotion to the Premier League during his spell with the club and had spells abroad with three other clubs including Vitesse Arnhem. 

The 24-year-old may eventually be sold after only making two appearances for Chelsea, despite being one of the longest-serving players under contract at Stamford Bridge. And the Blues are in a stronger bargaining position, with the player being under contract until 2021. 

Michael Hector has played on loan at 14 clubs during his career across his time at both Reading and Chelsea. 

The Premier League side signed him in 2015 for £4m and first loaned him straight back to Reading, subsequently sending him to Eintract Frankfurt and Hull City after.

Although he has had some good loan spells after joining Chelsea, he hasn't quite shown himself to be at the level to compete for major honours at the top of the game and thus is likely to be sold or released.

Jeremie Boga began his season as a Chelsea player and started in the club's opening match of the season against Burnley. 

However, he was substituted off after 14 minutes due to Gary Cahill's red card, with his side losing 2-3 at home in what was a woeful start to their title defence.

He has since joined struggling Championship side Birmingham on loan, but he may choose to find a permanent home elsewhere with competition for places so tough in the forward line at Chelsea. 

Lewis Baker is currently on loan at Middlesbrough and was regarded as one of Chelsea's brightest homegrown stars to go out on a temporary deal. 

However, his move to the north east has proven to be a disaster, leading to him not playing since October and having only made eight starts all season. 

Baker was one of the main heroes of Vitesse's first ever domestic cup win and he had a lot of interest in his services over the summer. He may well be sold next season, if the right move comes along.

Lucas Piazon has had an eventful season. Having suffered a fracture dislocation of his right ankle in August, he made a rapid recovery to come back just four months later. 

The versatile forward is in his second season at Fulham, but hasn't shown enough quality to return as a Chelsea player. 

Piazon has previously had loan spells at Malaga, Frankfurt, Vitesse and Reading.

Nathan was signed by Chelsea in 2015 for £4.5m, but in his time on loan at Vitesse, Amiens and now at Belenenses, he hasn't looked up to the standard of the Premier League champions. 

Chelsea were alerted to Nathan in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he was named the second best player of the tournament. 

However, it isn't looking likely that he will live up to his potential after a failed recent loan spell in France with Amiens, that resulted in him moving to Belenenses in January. 

Kenneth Omeruo is a Nigeria international with 36 caps but he still doesn't like a player who is capable of making the grade at Chelsea. 

He has made a name for himself in Turkey at Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor for the past three seasons, but he still looks short of the required experience to be a Chelsea defender. 

He has also had spells at ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough after signing for the Blues in 2012 from Standard Liege but is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club. 

Todd Kane has been on loan at seven clubs and he has cruelly had his Chelsea dream snatched away from him, after tearing his cruciate ligament at the end of his NEC Nijmegen loan spell. 

Former Blues technical director Michael Emenalo had told Kane that he was capable of competing for a spot in Antonio Conte's first-team squad but he has since had to go out on two more loan spells to prove his fitness. 

He is now at Oxford United, via a mixed spell at Groningen, but at 24 years old you have to wonder whether it will ever happen for him at Stamford Bridge.
