'That's a horrible jacket!' - LA Lakers star & Liverpool part-owner LeBron James rips apart NBA journalist for wearing Man Utd zip-up to press event

Basketball GOAT LeBron is a part-owner of Premier League giants Liverpool, having acquired a two per cent stake in the Reds for $6.5 million (£5m) back in 2011. He has since turned that into a 1 per cent holding in Fenway Sports Group’s global empire.

The sporting icon, who is emulating Cristiano Ronaldo by performing at the very highest level beyond his 40th birthday, has attended games at Anfield down the years. When unable to visit the UK, LeBron follows events on Merseyside from afar.

He has now been addressed by a journalist that made a point of showcasing his allegiance to Liverpool’s fiercest rivals. LA Lakers reporter Mike Trudell teased LeBron by sporting a Manchester United zip-up for media duties.

Before a question was asked, LeBron chimed in with: "That’s a horrible jacket, by the way." Trudell saw the funny side as James playfully pretended to rip the United crest from his windbreaker. Liverpool are giving all of their owners and fans plenty to cheer this season as they close in on the Premier League title.
