  • WHAT ELLIOTT SAID ABOUT HIS CAMEO

Elliott was introduced by Klopp in the 74th minute in place of Darwin Nunez and the English midfielder did not disappoint. He looked like a man on a mission and delivered when the stakes were high.

When asked what was the manager's message before he was subbed on, Elliott revealed to LFC TV: "'Try to make a difference'. He sent us on full of confidence and full of freedom and more importantly to help the team. It was a tough game against a tough opposition. It's three more points, we have to keep building on it. It's not always gonna be glitz and glamour, sometimes we've to do the dirty work."

    WHAT NEXT?

Elliott has struggled for minutes this season and has been mostly used as a substitute in the latter stages of a match. However, he will hope that his contribution against Palace may convince Klopp to make a change to his plans and give him a more prominent role as matches keep coming thick and fast for Liverpool. The Reds will next face Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday in the Europa League before hosting Manchester United in a blockbuster Premier League clash next Sunday at Anfield.
