With that in mind, former USMNT forward Charlie Davies has told CBS Sports of what needs to happen in Germany: “Gio Reyna has to find time to be in this team. Because he's good enough! That's for damn sure. So I don't know what is the problem. I do know, and I've been saying it for a while now, Gio Reyna's gotta move. He's gotta find a new place, a new environment, a coach that trusts him. Because to me, Terzic does not trust Gio Reyna. Given that the opportunities to play him, going back to last season, when he'd bring him in - Gio would score, then he wouldn't start the next game.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Reyna took in just 625 minutes of Bundesliga action last season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. He has only appeared in five of Dortmund’s 13 league games in 2023-24 – making just one start – and is in danger of seeing his promising career stall.
