The 21-year-old striker has penned a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi Pro League side, joining an elite squad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Aymeric Laporte, and Sadio Mane. The financial terms of Duran’s deal highlight the vast wealth on offer in Saudi football. According to reports from TNT Sports, the striker will earn an annual salary of £16.7 million($21m) at Al-Nassr. Breaking it down further, this equates to approximately £46,000 per day, £1,900 per hour, and £31 per minute - an extraordinary increase from his previous £75,000-per-week contract at Villa Park.

Duran’s rise has been rapid since he joined Aston Villa in 2023 from Major League Soccer outfit Chicago Fire in a deal worth around $18 million (£14.75 million). The Colombian forward has been one of Villa’s most promising players this season, netting 12 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions. His performances earned him recognition as a rising star, but he was often deployed as a substitute, starting only seven times in his 55 Premier League matches.

Al-Nassr have forked out a massive £64 million ($80m) for Duran after they allowed Brazilian striker Anderson Talisca to leave the club earlier in January. The new signing will wear the No.9 shirt at Al-Awwal Park.

Duran could make his debut for the club as early as Monday when they face Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League. He is likely to be part of a front three featuring Ronaldo and former Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.
