In a surprising turn of events, Celtic fans hurled tangerines onto the pitch early in the match, causing a stoppage that lasted close to three minutes.

Fans expressed their discontent with what they deemed exorbitant ticket prices, paying £42 each to witness the crucial title-deciding clash. A large banner displayed among the Celtic faithful added further context to the demonstration, reading, "Enjoy the fruits of our labour," highlighting their frustration over the cost burden placed upon them for attending the decisive match.

Several Celtic players, including Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Alistair Johnston, and captain Callum McGregor, quickly rallied together to remove the fruit from the penalty area. Dundee United staff members also rushed onto the field to aid in the cleanup, ensuring the disruption did not stretch any longer than necessary. In a lighter moment during the cleanup, Celtic's Daizen Maeda amused fans by casually picking up one of the tangerines and eating it, adding a touch of humour.
