From Alisson to Fekir: Who are Liverpool's transfer targets this summer?

Another player targeted by Liverpool in the past – they bid for Julian Draxler when he left Wolfsburg for PSG in January 2017 – and one who could well be on the move this summer.

Draxler can play wide or centrally, and has good pedigree from his Bundesliga days with both Schalke and Wolfsburg.

With PSG potentially set to spend big again this summer – Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante have been linked – the opportunities for the German international could be further limited.

Again, he would cost a lot, but we know that Klopp admires the 24-year-old. 

Another teenager from the Bundesliga, and one who has made a big impression over the last 18 months. Kai

Havertz, 19, has performed well for Bayer Leverkusen and has attracted scouts from across Europe. Liverpool are among those who have noted the forward's progress, making regular checks on the German youth international.

It may be a little soon for him to be considered as a possible first-teamer for the Reds – especially at the fee Leverkusen are likely to demand – but his talent and versatility would definitely appeal to Klopp.

One to keep an eye on, for sure.

It's no surprise to see Domagoj Vida linked with numerous clubs following his World Cup exploits with Croatia. The ponytailed centre-back stood out alongside Dejan Lovren as his side enjoyed a remarkable run to the final, and looks set to earn a move off the back of his performances.

Liverpool have been linked by the Turkish media, but Goal understands that the club are unlikely to recruit a central defender this summer. Virgil van Dijk, Lovren and Joel Matip are the senior options, with Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan offering ample cover.

At 29, Vida does not fit the profile of player Klopp and his recruitment team are looking to bring in.

Another favourite of the Reds' recruitment team, Julian Brandt was on the club's radar throughout the 2016-17 season, before they eventually plumped for a free-scoring Egyptian from Roma called Mohamed Salah.

That turned out well but, with depth wanted (and needed), there is still an interest in how the 22-year-old is progressing in the Bundesliga.

Brandt can play anywhere across the attacking line – a trait valued by Klopp – and was one of the few players to emerge with credit from Germany's terrible World Cup campaign.

He'd cost a lot, mind, and would not be guaranteed a starting berth.

Another blast from the past. Liverpool had looked set to sign Piotr Zielinski two years ago, but were frustrated in their dealings with his then-employers Udinese, who in the end decided to sell him to Napoli instead.

The Pole has shown flashes of brilliance since then, but is still to fully nail down a regular spot at the San Paolo.

With Liverpool still keen to add an extra goalscoring threat to their attacking midfield options – their Philippe Coutinho windfall remains largely unspent – then it is feasible that they would revisit their interest in the 24-year-old. Michael Edwards and his team certainly rate him.

Liverpool will come face-to-face with one of Klopp's favourites this weekend when they meet Dortmund in the International Champions Cup over in Charlotte, USA.

The Reds boss was in charge of the Germans when Christian Pulisic signed in 2015 but left before the American could emerge as a first-team option. He has, however, tracked the 19-year-old's progress closely since and remains a huge admirer of the versatile forward.

Liverpool looked to sign Pulisic in 2016, but Dortmund refused to sell. With Shaqiri signed it looks like Liverpool may have boxed off their wide option for this summer, but it is hard to see Klopp passing up an opportunity to land one of the most talented teenagers around if it were to come up.

Another goalkeeper, and one many consider to be among the best around. Jan Oblak's form for Atletico Madrid over the past four years has been exceptional, the Slovenian helping Diego Simeone win the Europa League back in May.

Liverpool, like the rest of Europe, have looked at the possibility of prising the 25-year-old away from Spain, but it looks very unlikely at this stage.

Oblak has a release clause in his contract, understood to be around £87m ($115m), which would make him comfortably the world's most expensive 'keeper.

There is no suggestion the former Benfica man is looking to leave Atleti, in any case, while his club are believed to be keen on increasing that clause with a new, improved contract.

File this one under 'very unlikely'.

A less-heralded name, but one that Liverpool certainly have interest in. Nigeria's Moses Simon plays with Gent in Belgium, and missed his country's World Cup campaign through injury.

With one year left on his deal, Liverpool have looked at the 23-year-old as potentially a bargain pick-up, although Anfield sources have admitted to Goal that he would need to develop significantly before he would be considered as a first-teamer.

Liverpool's signing of Xherdan Shaqiri, who, like Simon, can play on both wings, may have ended this one in any case, but Simon is certainly one to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.

Another open secret, this one. Liverpool thought they had Nabil Fekir back in June, when they had agreed a deal worth around £53m ($70m) for the 25-year-old.

The attacking midfielder underwent a medical, agreed personal terms and even posed in a Reds shirt for the club's official TV channel. Then, the move collapsed.

Fekir has been in Russia with his country since, helping France win the World Cup, but the rumours about a possible revival of Liverpool's interest persist – though mainly from the French end, it should be said. 

Goal's understanding is that it is unlikely that the talented playmaker will move to Anfield, but we have seen how quickly things can change in the window – see Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita as evidence from last summer.

We'll start with the obvious, shall we?

Liverpool's interest in Alisson is well documented; he has been identified by the Reds' recruitment team as one of the world's premier goalkeepers, and with Loris Karius' confidence looking shattered after the Champions League final, the Reds would certainly like to bring in a new No.1.

Their concern had been Roma's reluctance to sell, and interest from elsewhere - notably Real Madrid and Chelsea. This week, though, Goal confirmed that Liverpool and Roma agreed a £67 million fee for Alisson, with the Reds closing in on a deal.

Whether they can fend off Chelsea, who are seeking a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, remains to be seen. If they do, it could be a game-changer for Jurgen Klopp's side.
