  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

As Lingard’s club colleagues watch on behind him, the 31-year-old playmaker raises the volume of the crowed before then quietening them down. He then proceeds to mimic knocking a golf ball into the group of fans, which completes the routine and allows proper celebrations to begin.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

Lingard’s antics in South Korea have not been well received by everybody, with @M05es telling the charismatic midfielder that he is a “complete moron”. @LeahRayAFC adds that the elaborate celebration is “so cringe”, while @No1_REVENANT suggests that Lingard has “finally found his level”. Another critic, @abdul_tobiloba2, says: “Dancing. That's all he wanted to do. Just needed an excuse to wear shorts.”
