    Emotions were running high at the Etihad Stadium on the back of a thrilling Premier League contest that ended 2-2. Haaland had been on target in that contest – reaching 100 goals in total for City – before John Stones struck in the 98th minute to cancel out replies from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes.

    Norwegian frontman Haaland threw the ball at Brazilian defender Gabriel when seeing Stones rescue a point for Pep Guardiola’s side, but will not face any retrospective punishment. He will also avoid sanction for a fiery exchange with Arsenal coaches and players at the final whistle.

    As Gunners boss Arteta made his way towards the match officials at full-time – with there plenty of arguments running around his head – Haaland told the Spaniard: “Stay humble eh, stay humble eh.” Gabriel Jesus then stepped in and asked why his fellow frontman felt the need to make unnecessary comments.

    Haaland responded by saying: “Talking about what, I wasn’t talking f*cking clown. What you talking about, get the f*ck away you f*cking clown.” Arteta then tried to usher his players away from the on-field confrontation.

    Arsenal were unhappy after having Leandro Trossard sent off late in the first half – with a second yellow card picked up for kicking the ball away – and for seeing stoppage-time drag on beyond the seven-minute mark, which gave City a chance to snatch a share of the spoils and keep both title hopefuls unbeaten in the Premier League this season.
