Eberechi Eze is a chess king! Crystal Palace star goes unbeaten in PogChamps tournament as attacking midfielder prepares to lead Eagles into historic FA Cup final

The England international has many hobbies outside of football and one of those is chess. This week, Chess.com reported that the 26-year-old took part in the PogChamps 6 tournament. After receiving a bye to the last four, the attacking midfielder won his semi-final and final 2-0 to claim the online competition.

Aside from chess, Eze is in red-hot form for Palace, with his performances guiding the club to a rare FA Cup final. The Eagles have never won a major trophy and now they are just one game away from making history.

By winning the chess tournament, which had six players in the 'Championship bracket', Eze pocketed $20,000 and became the sixth PogChampion.

Before Palace's FA Cup final against Manchester City later this month, Eze's side host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Monday.
