    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The party reportedly came just a day after Alves was released from prison on bail. Alves was allowed to walk free having spent 14 months behind bars, after his €1 million (£850,00/$1.09m) bail bond was paid. Alves has appealed his conviction after being found guilty of rape and sentenced to four years and six months in jail and is now awaiting a final verdict. The Brazilian has also had to give up his passports and must attend court on a weekly basis as part of his bail terms.

  • WHAT HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT ALVES

There has been speculation over how Alves managed to pay his bail bond. Neymar's father has denied rumours that he paid the money to ensure the Brazilian's release, while former Barcelona team-mate Memphis Depay's agent has also insisted the Dutchman was not involved. Sebastien Ledure told Informativos Telecinco: "This is fake news. It is false news, it is not true at all."
