David Beckham hits back at 'Pink Phony Club' jibe as Minnesota United mock Lionel Messi and Co. after thrashing Inter Miami in MLS clash

Inter Miami suffered a 4-1 defeat to Minnesota United on Saturday night in MLS which led to plenty of social media activity. Minnesota posted an image after the game on Instagram with the caption "Pink Phony Club." The jibe was a clear reference to Inter Miami, and their pink kit, and did not sit at all well with Beckham. The club owner replied with the message: "Show a little respect @mnufc be elegant in triumph."

The saga did not end quite there, either. Minnesota added another post showing a banner that had been unfurled at the game with the message: "History over Hype, Culture over Cash." This also did not escape Beckham's attentions as he replied once more with a similar response, writing: "Respect over everything @mnufc."

The defeat to Minnesota continues a poor run of form for Inter Miami. Javier Mascherano's side have now lost four out of their last five matches in all competitions. Minnesota's win is also Inter Miami's heaviest defeat since Messi joined the club back in 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain and means they have now conceded 13 goals across those four losses.

Inter Miami will aim to bounce back on Thursday when they take on San Jose in MLS.
