    WHAT HAPPENED?

Club America might have finally found their answer in their long pursuit for a pacey attacking winger as the club has reportedly signed France international Allan Saint-Maximin from Al-Ahli in a $13.9 million (€12M) transfer, according to ESPN.

The winger will serve as a massive boost for  Apertura 2025 as Las Águilas have secured a major European signing while competing in the Leagues Cup in the United States.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 28-year-old will sign a four-year contract, with an option for an additional year, becoming the tenth club in his professional career. He plays primarily as a left winger and is coming off a season where he scored four goals and added 10 assists in 31 appearances for the Saudi side. Known for his world-class dribbling ability, Saint-Maximin rose to stardom while playing for Newcastle United in the Premier League. He made 111 league appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.

This move puts some uncertainty towards America's reported pursuit of LAFC star Denis Bouanga, who plays the same position as Saint-Maximin.
