He's going nowhere! Chelsea and Man Utd target Victor Osimhen close to signing new Napoli deal, president insists

De Laurentiis remained confident that Victor Osimhen will sign the dotted lines and extend his stay at Napoli despite transfer interests from Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United. The striker still has one and a half years left in his existing contract but the reigning Italian champions want to continue their association with the player beyond 2025.

Speaking to reporters at an award function, the Napoli chief said, "For Osimhen we are at the signing stage which had been pending since the summer."

Osimhen, who has netted six times for his club in 12 appearances this season, saw his relationship soured with napoli after the club uploaded a video to their TikTok page that mocked him. The Nigerian was linked with big money move to the Saudi Pro League during the summer but it did not materialise as the player rejected the move and decided to stay.

The 24-year-old returned to action against Atalanta last week after sitting out with a thigh injury for almost a month. He again missed the Champions League clash against Real Madrid earlier this week but is likely to feature for his club on Sunday as they take on league leaders Inter in a crucial Serie A clash.
