Despite having a short pre-season due to an extended holiday after reaching the Euro 2024 final with England, Saka was named in Mikel Arteta's starting lineup on Saturday as Arsenal took on Wolves in their season opener. The winger had a stellar outing in the season opener, as he contributed to Kai Havertz's opening goal before adding to the team's tally with a brilliant strike.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gunners skipper Odegaard was left impressed by his team-mate's efforts on the pitch, as he claimed that Saka has the potential to better his performance from last season. The 22-year-old was the north London club's best performer in the 2023-24 campaign as he scored 20 goals across all competitions in 47 appearances and provided 14 assists.

  • WHAT MARTIN ODEGAARD SAID

Speaking to reporters after the game, the Norwegian said: "He will just get better and better. You see him every day in training, he is working so hard and he is working on all the small details to get better. I am sure he is just going to improve and improve. I can't wait to see where he takes it.

"There is no roof for this guy. It is unbelievable the quality that he has and how professional he is, how much he loves the game and how much he puts into it every day. The sky is the limit for him. I am just happy to have him on my team and we have got to help him to improve all the time and push him. I am really happy for him."
