    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Dan Scarr is the latest to join the ranks in North Wales, with the 29-year-old defender severing ties with a Plymouth side that is now managed by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney. He has dropped down a level from the Championship.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

His arrival was announced in typical style by Wrexham, who are using print outs from commercial partners HP to confirm new arrivals. Comical clauses have been inserted into said paperwork, with Callum Burton’s ‘contract’ stating that he must “agree that Deadpool would beat Wolverine in a fight” and “must, every now and then, be a backup dancer for The Declan Swans”.

  • WHAT WREXHAM SAID

The terms have now been revealed for Scarr, and they include: “The player will not recline their seat on an airplane. Unless they're in the last row, that's a moral grey area.” They add that “the player must make the most of what remains of this brat girl summer” - a internet phenomenon inspired by Charli XCX's recently-released album - and go on to say that any new signing will “agree to breath oxygen”.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Having agreed to those stipulations, Scarr forms part of Parkinson’s plans. Wrexham have returned from another tour of North America and head into the 2024-25 campaign on the back of an unbeaten pre-season that was wrapped up in a 1-0 win over Fleetwood.
