Blake Lively salutes 'misfits, rebels, troublemakers' Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney for delivering more 'magic' to record-breaking Wrexham

The Red Dragons are in the process of celebrating a third successive promotion, with that party in North Wales set to drag on into the summer. Phil Parkinson’s side are now preparing for life in the Championship.

A 3-0 victory over Charlton at a raucous SToK Racecourse got them over the line in 2024-25, with Hollywood co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney in attendance for a game that will likely figure prominently in Season 4 of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series.

Lively was also in Wales alongside her husband Reynolds and thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, as she mingled with the masses and joined in with post-match celebrations that quickly spilled over onto the pitch.

Lively has said in an emotional social media post: “@wrexham_afc thank you to the entire town, everyone who flew in far and wide, and to everyone on the field and off, from groundskeepers to stewards, gift shop to PT, kit managers to self elected chant writers. history was made yesterday not just with you, but because of you.

“I’ll always appreciate the warmth and embrace that you give me and my loved ones, in a way usually reserved for family. Your passion and the ferocity of your joy is the magic. Thank you for an unforgettable day. And for being a key part of our lives every day.

“Congratulations to the entire team, their families and the one and only Phil Parkinson. You show us all that impossible dreams really can come true.

It is not the first time that Lively has joined Reynolds at a Wrexham game, with A-list guests par for the course at the Racecourse. She will likely be back for more next season, with the Red Dragons determined to deliver on their ultimate goal of reaching the Premier League.
