    The Lionesses forward brought her team back in the game just past the half hour mark after Vivianne Miedema scored the opener for the Cityzens. With the equaliser, England became the first player in the history of the Women's Super League to score 25-plus goals for two different clubs. Between 2016 and 2023, the striker represented Chelsea, where she appeared in 99 WSL matches and scored 45 goals. For Spurs, she now has 25 strikes to her name in 39 league appearances.

    England's strike helped Spurs restore parity in the match as the North London side headed into the break with the scoreline reading 1-1. Aoba Fujino, however, scored a second goal for City to secure crucial three points for Gareth Taylor's side. With the win, the Cityzens reduced their gap with league leaders Chelsea to 11 points.
