GettyTHE BIGGER PICTURE
The 19-year-old is seeking regular first-team football and has prioritised a move within La Liga to continue his development. His proposed switch to the Balearic Islands, however, now hinges entirely on Maffeo's future. Maffeo has an offer from Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro, but his departure from Mallorca has stalled, leaving Fort's loan in limbo with the end of the transfer window approaching.
Getty Images SportWHAT NEXT FOR FORT?
The teenager's immediate future depends on Maffeo's move away from Mallorca being completed. Should the defender's transfer be finalised, Fort's loan is expected to be rubber-stamped quickly. However, if the deal for Maffeo collapses, Fort will be forced to reconsider other options on the table to secure a move away from Barcelona before the deadline.
