  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Per Fabrizio Romano, Yamal has agreed to sign a new long-term contract that will keep him at Barcelona until June 2031. On Monday, the Catalan side reached a full agreement with Yamal's agent, Jorge Mendes, and the teenager is now expected to formally sign the deal on Tuesday.

    Under the terms of the new deal, Yamal will see a significant rise in his wages. The 17-year-old will also receive several bonuses, including one if he wins the Ballon d'Or, according to ESPN. It has also been reported that Yamal will become the highest-paid player in the squad, surpassing Robert Lewandowski's salary of €33 million (£27m/$36m) a year.
