Ferran Torres showed he can deliver when Robert Lewandowski doesn't and Barcelona's midweek Champions League hero Marcus Rashford continued his good form as Getafe were put to the sword. Torres' brace and Dani Olmo's strike, from Rashford's assist, ensured that the Blaugrana kept the pressure on bitter rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga with a 3-0 win.

Barca took the lead in delicious fashion when Raphinha threaded the ball through to Dani Olmo, the attacking midfielder backheeled it to Torres, and the striker did the rest to make it 1-0 after 15 minutes. The hosts, who dropped Marcus Rashford to the bench for turning up late for their Sunday team meeting despite his brace against Newcastle United, made it 2-0 in the 34th minute when the Brazilian beat the offside trap and then neatly set up Torres, who coolly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.

The Blaugrana were much sloppier in the second half amid extreme weather conditions, but still made it 3-0 when Rashford stepped off the bench and provided a cut back for Olmo to slot home from the edge of the box in the 63rd minute. The Catalan outfit, who are now two points behind league leaders Madrid, showed they don't always need Lamine Yamal to cut teams open.

GOAL rates Barcelona's players from the rain-soaked Estadi Johan Cruyff...

  • خوان جارسياGetty Images Sport

    Goalkeeper & Defence

    Joan Garcia (7/10):

Looks a very calming and assured figure in Barcelona' goal, something they have been missing for a while.

    Jules Kounde (7/10):

Was maybe the busiest of Barcelona's defenders as Getafe had a bit more joy down their left but the Frenchman held his own.

    Eric Garcia (7/10):

The Spain international has come on leaps and bounds in recent times. Dealt with the vast majority of what Getafe had to throw at him.

    Andreas Christensen (6/10):

Has not played a great deal in 2025 but did a competent enough job in Barca's defensive line. Unlikely to usurp Ronald Araujo for the time being, though.

    Gerard Martin (6/10):

The left-back was given the runaround by Anthony Elanga in midweek but had a much more comfortable outing against Getafe.

    Midfield

    Pedri (7/10):

The little general kept Barca's midfield ticking over nicely. He played a big part in them gaining superiority in that part of the pitch.

    Frenkie de Jong (7/10):

As usual, a controlled and calm performance from the Netherlands international. Was rarely troubled during his time on the field.

    Dani Olmo (8/10):

Bagged an assist of the season contender by setting up Torres and had too much quality for the away team. Deservedly got a goal, too.

  • FC Barcelona v Getafe CF - LaLiga EA SportsGetty Images Sport

    Attack

    Raphinha (8/10):

Was at his creative best when he played a part in the opener and then assisted Torres for Barca's second. Was taken off at the break after picking up a yellow.

    Robert Lewandowski (6/10):

The Polish veteran had a very quiet game compared to his attacking team-mates. Cut a frustrated figure as the ball wouldn't sit for him.

    Ferran Torres (9/10):

Barca's 'shark' was in ruthless form early on as he took his two goals with aplomb and nearly had a first-half hat-trick, only to be denied by the crossbar.

    Subs & Manager

    Marcus Rashford (7/10):

The Manchester United loanee made a rare outing on the right off the bench but still looked lively as he turned provider for Olmo. His pace and directness caused problems as he bagged his second assist in as many La Liga matches.

    Fermin Lopez (6/10):

Didn't quite have the impact that fellow attacking midfielder Olmo had, despite his obvious quality.

    Marc Casado (7/10):

Gave Barca a bit more oomph in midfield when the game was getting a bit scrappy in the second half.

    Roony Bardghji (7/10):

The teenager is a real livewire and loves taking on the opposition.

    Ronald Araujo (N/A):

Too little time to make an impact.

    Hansi Flick (8/10):

The Barcelona boss rung the changes for the visit of Getafe, and he was right to do so as some of the non-regulars stepped up to the mark. His team played some delightful football and were far too good for Azulones. He identified that the visitors could be hurt from Barca making runs from deep and they kept exploiting that weakness.
