Barcelona get huge boost as Marc-Andre ter Stegen set to return for first time since November in Granada clash

Per Sport, Ter Stegen is poised to make his first appearance for Barcelona since November, when he kept goal in the 2-1 win over Alaves. Inaki Pena has deputised in goal while he has been injured, but the return of the Germany No.1 will be a welcome boost for manager Xavi.

Ter Stegen has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in world football during his time at Camp Nou and has clocked 394 appearances since arriving in 2014. His return comes at an opportune time, with Barcelona in fine form; they have won four of their last five games, although they are still 11 points behind leaders Real Madrid.

While Ter Stegen has been out, Barcelona have played 10 league games, winning six, drawing two and losing two. He is the club's captain and will likely retain the armband if he does make his return on Sunday against Granada.

A win over Rayo would move Barca within eight points of Real Madrid. They will face Celta Vigo next weekend before returning to Champions League action against Napoli in the Round of 16 on February 21.
