Bafana Bafana vs Nigeria's Super Eagles: Confirmed venue details & kick-off time for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier

International football is set to return in September, with countries on the continent set to chase the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket.

Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles are set to renew their rivalry in Group C.

South Africa are in a prime position to advance from their pool, having collected 13 points from the six matches they have played.

It has not been a good journey so far for Nigeria, who are placed fourth in the group with seven points after playing six games as well.

While Bafana Bafana have a chance to advance with a win in the next outing, depending on the results posted by other teams, Nigeria must win to keep alive their dream of advancing.

"South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will play host to three-time African champions Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, 9th September 2025," NFF confirmed.
"According to information from Gordon Savic, FIFA’s Head of Qualifiers and International Matches, the highly-anticipated game will commence at 4 PM GMT [which is 5pm Nigeria time and 6pm in South Africa]"

Prior to the game against Nigeria, South Africa will have a Lesotho hurdle to get over.

Coach Hugo Broos is aware that he has a massive chance to help South Africa play in the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 2010, when they qualified as hosts.

The Belgian will surely want to finish the job and now concentrate on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be played in Morocco later in the year.
