  • WHAT HAPPENED?

NBC Sports Soccer set Saliba a challenge that required him to name Arsenal players from the past from photos. While the Frenchman struggled on a few, he managed to identify Alex Song, Andrey Arshavin and Yaya Sanogo without too much difficulty. However, when it came to Swiss defender Philippe Senderos, he made a hilarious mistake.

    WHAT SALIBA SAID

Saliba somehow managed to get Senderos - who played for Arsenal between 2003 and 2010 and is now 38 years old - with 52-year-old Everton manager Sean Dyche.

When shown a photo of Senderos, Saliba said: "Is it the coach of Everton?" before laughing off his mistake when corrected.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Saliba brought stability to Arsenal's defence when he returned to the Emirates Stadium last season following a loan spell at Marseille. He missed the last 11 games of the campaign as Arsenal threw away the Premier League title, but he has appeared in all 12 league outings so far this term.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SALIBA?

Saliba failed to identify former Arsenal stars Eduardo, Denilson, and Manuel Almunia, so maybe he needs to brush up on his Gunners history. On the field, he'll look to help Arsenal to a win away at Brentford on Saturday.
