Payday for Bukayo Saka! Arsenal ready to make England star one of club's top earners as part of blockbuster new contract

Last week, it was reported that William Saliba is all set to sign a new long-term Arsenal contract that will keep him at Emirates Stadium until 2030. Talks regarding fresh terms have dragged on for some time, leading to inevitable questions over the Frenchman’s long-term future in north London, but he is now ready to put pen to paper.

After tying Saliba down to a new deal, the Gunners have shifted their focus to star winger Saka, who has entered the final two years of his current contract, according to the Mirror. The Premier League are preparing a blockbuster contract that would make the England international one of the highest-paid footballers at the Emirates Stadium. The club remain confident that Saka will agree on the new deal in the coming weeks.

The Gunners spent heavily in the summer transfer window to rebuild their squad as they brought in big names like Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi. However, new sporting director Andrea Berta had mentioned that retaining the existing squad members on a long-term basis continues to remain the club's top priority. In the past few months, they have extended the deals of Gabriel, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly and are now hoping Saka agrees to their offer. 

After picking up a win in a crucial fixture on Sunday, Arteta's side now shift their focus to Europe as they ae set to host Olympiacos in a Champions League clash at home on Wednesday. Their next Premier League fixture is against West Ham at Emirates Stadium on October 4.
