WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Barcelona's loss to Leganes on Sunday night meant that they have now dropped 13 points in their last six league games, allowing their rivals from the Spanish capital to get right back into the title race. Atletico Madrid continued their impeccable run of form by earning a hard-fought 1-0 win to go level on points with Barcelona, while Real Madrid moved to within a point of the Blaugrana following a 3-3 thriller against Rayo Vallecano. Both Atleti and Real have played one game fewer than Hansi Flick's side.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Next weekend is set to be an incredible week in the Spanish top flight, as Barcelona will be welcoming Atletico Madrid in a top-of-the-table clash at Montjuic. While current form might be against Flick's troops, history sides with them going into this clash, as Diego Simeone's side have beaten Barca only twice in LaLiga since the start of the 2010-11 season. That's one victory every seven seasons.</p>
