Annie Kilner following Kyle Walker to Italy 'for sake of her sons' as couple look to move past 'traumatic' 12 months - but new AC Milan signing's 'terrorised' wife still 'intent on divorce' after Lauryn Goodman affair

Walker's loan move to Milan with his wife and their children in tow won't necessarily fix his personal life, a new report has claimed. The Sun writes that while reconciliation is not off the table and becomes a stronger possibility the longer they are together in Italy, Kilner's primary motivation for going at all is for the sake of their four sons.

A source dubbed an 'insider' told The Sun: "Annie has made it clear to friends she is making the move to Italy for the sake of her family, telling them, 'I'm doing it for the boys'. Getting away from the UK and the noise surrounding Kyle's sex scandals and drama with Lauryn is what they desperately need. They feel smothered.

"It’s been a traumatic 12 months and they now just want to put it behind them and attempt to lead some sort of normal existence for a while. Annie is still intent on going through with the divorce, which Kyle won't oppose, but the longer they remain together, the more chance they have of eventually reconciling against the odds.

"Kyle accepts that he is taking his problems with him and won't ever escape what he has done. This is an opportunity for him to get some breathing space and for the couple to work out their next steps. They could go to the ends of the Earth and still not escape Lauryn [Goodman]. Because of what he’s done, she is going to be in their lives for a long time to come and there's nothing they can do about it. It’s all Annie thinks about. She feels terrorised by it all and worries constantly about what Lauryn is likely to do next."

Walker's personal life blew up at Christmas 2023 when Lauryn Goodman told his wife Kilner, who was then pregnant, about a second child fathered by the Manchester City defender. Walker fathered his first son with Goodman in 2021 during a a first break from Kilner, his childhood sweetheart, following an alleged previous sex scandal. But Walker and Kilner later reconciled, before the subsequent Goodman affair. He left the family home for the second time and Kilner filed for divorce, but relations looked to have thawed when they spent Christmas together in 2024. However, with Goodman reported to be furious about Walker moving to Italy, the chances of ever going back to normal appear almost non-existent.

Walker's loan at Milan is only until the end of the season and he may have to wait for his debut while a work permit is granted. But early signs point towards the Serie A giants triggering an option to make it a permanent transfer come summer. Who knows what state Walker's personal life will be in by that point.
